Jordan HartYoung goal-keeper Jordan Hart bid farewell to Celtic yesterday- using twitter.

The 19-year-old played his last match for the club in the SFA Youth Cup triumph at Hampden bringing 11 years at Celticto an end.

Leo Fasan’s position as first choice keeper for the development side over the last three seasons has restricted Hart’s chances with the young keeper spending the second part of this season on loan at Annan Athletic.

Despite his lack of opportunities Hart was in the Scotland u-19 squad that finished runners-up to Austria in the Elite Qualifying round for the European Championships in March.

Hart was part of the ’96 group’ that includes Liam Henderson with the young midfielder currently out on loan at Rosenborg.

Thursday’s Hampden triumph was a well deserved reward for the u-20 side who had beaten Motherwell, Dundee United, Hamilton and Hibs to reach the final.

Hart’s biggest contribution to the run came in the quarter-final win over Hamilton Accies. Two early goals from Luke Donnelly appeared to put the hoops in control but Accies pulled a goal back before the interval.

It seemed inevitable that Hamilton’s pressure would bring an equaliser but Hart was in inspired form with a number of impressive stops helping to retain the lead and book a semi-final place.

That victory secured a place in the semi-final which Celtic won 6-0 before taking the trophy with a convincing 5-2 win at Hampden.

As Hart moves on Colin McCabe will step up into the development squad after being part of the Glasgow Cup winning side’s of 2014 and 2015.
