red cardKirk Broadfoot has been hit with a ten match FA ban following a clash with James McClean.

The Daily Mirror has described the incident as a sectarian tirade but it’s Scottish title, the Daily Record, the incident has been labelled a verbal tirade.

The former Rangers (IL) defender joined Blackpool in 2012 after being released by Sevco and moved on to Rotherham in 2013.

Rotherham hosted Wigan at the New York Stadium on March 14 where the incident took place with the Yorkshire club refusing to comment on the ban given to the defender.

The ten match ban is longer than the suspension that Luis Suarez received for his racist abuse of Patrice Evra in 2011.

While the Daily Record restrict their report to claiming that Broaders called McClean a cheat during the match the Daily Mirror went into greater depth reporting Broadfoot was born into a Protestant family in Ayrshire and is known to be a staunch supporters of certain cultural traditions relating to his religion.’

Closer to the action the Sheffield star reported Rotherham United are staying silent over claims that centre-half Kirk Broadfoot has been given a 10-game ban by the FA.’

Rotherham are currently playing a number of pre-season games in Scotland but have yet to featured 30-year-old Broadfoot who also missed the final match of last season against Leeds United.

While the majority of his Rangers (IL) team-mates walked away in the summer of 2012 Broadfoot TUPE’d his contract over to Sevco and played in the mystery match against Brechin City in the Ramsdens Cup.

A month later he was mutually concented joining Blackpool shortly afterwards.

Heard Broadfoot was hammered for sectarian abuse, so we’ll done to the FA for hammering him.

Scotland, the most bigoted wee country in the world ever, of course according to the Sectarian FA it would’ve been a wee bit of banter, in the one way street of banter that is Scottish football!
