development teamJamie Lindsay has joined Dumbarton on a six month development loan.

The midfielder is reunited with Calum Waters and will make his Dumbarton debut in tomorrow’s Petrofac Cup tie away to Morton.

Lindsay becomes the fifth Celtic player to be loaned out to a Championship club and moves on after an eventful week that saw him play last Saturday for the first team against Eibar, in the development team against Raith Rovers on Tuesday before joining Dumbarton last night.

Speaking to his club website Dumbarton boss Stevie Aitken said: “Jamie’s been on the radar for a while. We made an enquiry a few weeks ago, but his involvement with the first team at Celtic delayed the decision.

“He’s thought of very, very highly at Celtic and had a few teams on both sides of the border wanting him on loan.

“I’m delighted he chose Dumbarton and everything going OK with paperwork, he’ll go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game at Cappielow.”

With Dumbarton being part-time Lindsay will train with Celtic through the week and join his new team-mates for training on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Stuart Findlay had a successful spell on loan at Dumbarton last season and recently moved to Kilmarnock on a season long loan.

Lindsay will come up against plenty of familiar faces in the second tier of Scottish football with Paul McMullan on loan to St Mirren while Alloa have Connor McManus and Michael Duffy.

The terms of a development loan allow a player to turn out for their parent club in the Development League and also the Premier League International Cup.
