Calvin MillerBefore setting off for the Durban u-19 International Tournament a Celtic XI defeated Lowland League East Kilbride 4-2.

Calvin Miller with a double plus strikes from Ciaren Lafferty and Theo Archibald earned Stevie Frail’s side a win at the K Park which is the home ground for Celtic’s ladies team.

The match followed the recent pattern of pre-season matches where the young players impressed more against senior opponents, Morton and Raith Rovers, than they did against Turriff United and East Kilbride.

Darnell Fisher was in the side that played at East Kilbride but dropped out of the squad for Durban with Joe Thomson and Mark Hill joining the 18 strong squad.

Celtic lost their opening match 4-2 to Arsenal despite getting back on level terms after falling 2-0 down midway through the first half.

At 4.15 Celtic Park time they are back in action against PSV Eindhoven who lost their opening match 3-2 to the KZN Academy.

Celtic and PSV played each other in the 2012/13 Next Gen Series which also included Aston Villa and Sporting Lisbon.
