Bolton Wanderers - Neil Lennon Press ConferenceNeil Lennon is desperate to bring in a loan striker to steer Bolton away from the relegation zone of the Championship.

The former Celtic boss had a move for Anthony Stokes turned down on the final day of the transfer window and is still looking for more firepower.

Saturday’s 2-2 draw at home to league leaders Brighton showed that there is nothing wrong with the spirit at the club as they fought back from two goals down to grab an injury time equaliser.

Six goals from nine matches highlights where Bolton’s problems lie with Lennon keen to find a solution with Emile Heskey poised to return to action.

It’s a frustration we haven’t sorted anything,” the Irishman admitted to the Bolton News. “In fact it’s a frustration to me that we haven’t been able to do something since the start of the season – someone who can make that little bit of difference.

We’ve had good possession, created a number of chances and there was a thrust about the way we played against Brighton which was very pleasing.

If we could get something to finish off a few more of these chances then we’ll be absolutely fine.

The 14 players who played (against Brighton) did their bit but my options were short. I might have Max (Clayton) and Emile back in play but I still need something a little bit different.”

The sacking season is already underway in the Championship with Brentford and Rotherham parting with their managers while Steve Morgan has put Wolves up for sale.

After nine matches just eight points separate third bottom Preston with sixth placed Burnley who are sitting in a play-off place.
