Stefan ScepovicStefan Scepovic scored after just TWO minutes of his home debut for Getafe against Malaga.

After three defeats in their opening matches left them sitting at the bottom of La Liga the on loan striker got Fran Escriba’s side off to the perfect start with Getafe holding on to claim full points and move up seven places from the bottom of the table.

Scepovic was a deadline day signing for Celtic from Sporting Gijob last year and returned to La Liga on the final day of the transfer window at the start of this month.

Despite failing to get a run of games under Ronny Deila most Celtic fans were impressed by the Serbian who was a clear step away from Mo Bangura, Teemu Pukki and Amido Balde.

Scepovic has led a nomadic career having played for eight clubs before signing for Celtic at the age of 24.

The arrival of Nadir Ciftci from Dundee United seemed to signal the end of Scepovic’s Celtic career with the Turk selected for the Champions League qualifiers against Stjarnan and Qarabag.

After scoring 23 goals in the Second Division for Sporting Gijon Scepovic remains highly rated in Spanish football with two other clubs putting in offers before Celtic completed a deal with Getafe.

While the Serbian tries to make his mark at the bottom of the table John Guidetti has only seen 57 minutes of action after three matches with third places Celta Vigo.

Despite signing a five year deal as a free agent Guidetti has had to make do with two substitute appearances as Celta beat Getafe and Rayo Vallecano before drawing 3-3 at home to Las Palmas.

No wonder he scored-he appears to have 4 legs to run with in that picture!

I really thought (hoped) he would have been our ideal replacement for Hooper but for some reason he never got a proper run. Was this yet another example of a Lawell/Park, as opposed to the manager’s, signing?
