Shaun BowersShaun Bowers and Broque Watson scored for Scotland’s u-17 side in the 3-0 win over Macadonia on Tuesday but the young Scots lost 2-0 to Bulgaria today.

Those results mean that Scotland will have to beat Italy on Monday to progress to the next stage in the European Championships.

Going into the final group match Italy top the table with four points, one ahead of Scotland and Bulgaria with Macedonia on one point from their goal-less draw with Italy.

Bowers got Scotland off to the perfect start with a goal after eight minutes in the opening match with Lewis Morrison doubling the lead in the 20th minute.

With ten minutes left to play, the matches last 80 minutes, Watson put the points beyond Macedonia with the third goal of the match.

Celtic’s Aidan McAdams was in goals for Scotland with Wallace Duffy and Jack Aitchison appearing as second half substitutes.

Against the host nation today Scotland lost goals in the 24th and 67th minutes with Italy drawing against Macedonia.

The final group matches take place at 3pm (Celtic Park Time) on Monday with needing to beat Italy to guarantee a top two place.
