James KeatingsJames Keatings was the Hibs hero as Alan Stubbs side beat St Mirren 4-1 in Paisley today.

The former Celtic striker switched across the city from Hearts in the summer to provide additional firepower to Jason Cummings.

After last week’s 2-1 win at home to Sevco the pressure was on Hibs as they travelled along the M8 with Sean Kelly putting the homeside in front after just eight minutes.

Cummings equalised just two minutes later with Keatings netting in the 37th , 41st and 78th minute to give Hibs their 12th win in 13 matches in all competitions.

Liam Henderson drove Hibs on from midfield with Islam Feruz making a brief appearance, replacing Keats with eight minutes left to play. Paul McMullan played the first 70 minutes for St Mirren.

With Sevco just five points clear and staring administration in the face Hibs are perfectly placed to push on take advantage of the chaos at Ibrox.

On Thursday Charles Green will be in court to get his legal fees picked up by the club whose auditors issued a going concern with the accounts for 2014/15.

Next month Dave King faces a court date with Mike Ashley that could see the South African based businessman spending Christmas behind bars.

Elsewhere in the Championship former Celt Denny Johnstone scored the only goal of the game as Morton ended Livingston’s two match winning run.

Jamie Lindsay and Calum Waters were in the Dumbarton side that lost 1-0 at Queen of the South who included former Celt’s Robbie Thomson, Lewis Kidd, Ryan Conroy and Mark Miller.

    Great to hear these young Bhoys doing so good ,hope young Christies knee injury isnt to serious,i cannot wait to see henderson christie and all the other youngsters along with the possible additions of mcginn and souter all playing with passion for the famous green and white hoops.
