There was no doubting the joy on Leigh Griffiths face when he found the back of the net at Inverness yesterday.

After failing to score against Kilmarnock and Ajax the former Hibs striker seemed to place a disproportionate share of blame on his shoulders as the pressure and criticism mounted on Ronny Deila and his side.

Just before the hour mark at Inverness came redemption with a goal brilliantly simplistic.

Scott Allan noted Kieran Tierney on the overlap and sent his pass in behind the Caley Thistle defence. The 18-year-old didn’t disappoint with his delivery, cutting the ball back into the path of Griffiths who smacked an unstoppable shot high into the net.

I love watching Leigh after be scores,” Deila said. “I love players who just live to play football, who find the desire every day. It’s not about money for them, it’s about playing football – and that is Leigh Griffiths.

“I don’t know how much he is worth now, but it would be a lot. We want to keep him at Celtic for a long time because he is a great player and a terrific guy.

“Leigh has been brilliant this season, he scores almost every game. Yes, he had some chances against Ajax, but every striker misses some chances.

“He worked hard, he has a good attitude and that is really what you can expect from every player every time. Ups and downs in performance will happen, but again he has bounced back today and I am happy for him and I am happy for the team.”

    Joe,
Have you gone soft ??? no mention of Men in Black, did you forget Mr Dallas said that we have 3 of the best referees in Europe ha ha ffs sorry yes Mr W Collum, Mr C. Thompson, Mr Madden, also McLean, is not far away.

He sort of hinted that they yes have a big chance of being officials at this season Europa Final, well if yesterdays game was trial Collum failed big time, he constantly refused to book any ICT players some tackles were verging on red cards yet he saw fit to point out 3 tackles from BitTon then yellow carded him.

Also our 3rd goal was he going to give us a penalty insTead a goal, as for BBC they were usual biased reports every week against us till we called them to task, lastly for the past 2 seasons Mr W Collum has had more bad reports than any other ref by most clubs reports,
