Mo BanguraThe weird and not so wonderful career of Mo Bangura has arrived in China, signing a three year contract with second division side Dalian Yifang.

In August 2011 Celtic paid £2m to AIK Solna for the striker but after three starts and 13 substitute appearances it was obvious that he was never going to threaten the partnership of Anthony Stokes and Gary Hooper.

Bangura was sent back to AIK on loan then controversially played against Celtic while on loan to Elfsborg in the 2013 Champions League qualifiers.

In January 2014, after a month back at Celtic Neil Lennon said: “It’s reasonable to say that he doesn’t have a future here. It just hasn’t worked out for both parties. These things sometimes happen in football. We’ve had no enquiries for him yet but his best bet may be Scandinavia again.

You’re never going to get every signing right. Every manager, even the greats, has made a mistake or two along the way. Mo needs to get out and play because it’s going to be restrictive here.”

Bangura was released shortly after the signing of Leigh Griffiths with the Sierra Leone striker moving to BB Istanbul in the Turkish second division before returning to AIK Solna a year ago on a free transfer.

After scoring eight goals for AIK during the 2015 season he is on the move again in a £700,000 deal to China for the next chapter in his eventful career which is likely to feature another stint with AIK Solna.

    Useless info
I live in Sweden and when the news first came out Bangura’s comment was proud to be the player to bring in the most in transfer fees for my beloved AIK.
Still hoping there is a real world out there, beyond fantasy football numpties.
