HendersonLiam Henderson came off the bench as Hibs drew 1-1 at home to Falkirk.

The on-loan midfielder was making his first appearance since November 17 after being floored by a virus.

Alan Stubbs hadn’t planned on playing Henderson but a 43rd minute red card for John McGinn saw Henderson pushed on to replace Dominic Malonga at half-time.

Speaking earlier this week the Hibs boss said: “Liam is going to be building his strength and fitness. He has been doing that since Thursday but we have to be careful not to bring him back too quickly.”

Hibs fell behind to an 82nd minute goal from the experienced Lee Miller but in the second minute of stoppage time substitute Martin Boyle equalised to keep Hibs three points behind Sevco who drew 2-2 at home to Morton.

Next week Hibs are at home to Queen of the South before visiting Ibrox on December 28.

Elsewhere in the Championship Jamie Lindsay helped Dumbarton to a 1-0 win over St Mirren that led to the resignation of Ian Murray. Calum Waters and Paul McMullan were unused substitutes.

After the match the St Mirren website announced: “It has been confirmed this evening that St Mirren manager Ian Murray has offered his resignation to the chairman, Stewart Gilmour, which has been accepted.

“We would like to thank Ian for his hard work in his time at the club and we are disappointed that it has not worked out for all parties.”

At Livingston Connor McManus and Michael Duffy enjoyed just their second win of the season as Alloa won 1-0 away to Livingston to move three points behind Mark Burchill’s side.

Stuart Findlay, Tony Ralston and Ryan Christie all missed out through injury with Darnell Fisher missing tomorrow from the St Johnstone side to face Celtic.
