Calum WatersCalum Waters scored his first goal for Dumbarton last night as the Championship club crushed Alloa 5-0 in the Scottish Cup to earn a fourth round tie at home to Queen of the South.

The left-back appeared as a substitute for Garry Fleming and netted the final goal of the night as the Sons enjoyed back-to-back wins over Alloa.

Earlier in the day Danny Lennon announced his resignation as manager of Alloa with things going from bad to worse just 19 seconds into the match when teenager Donald McCallum put the home side in front.

Fleming doubled the lead before three goals in the last 11 minutes took Waters, Jamie Lindsay, Mark Brown, Grant Gallagher and Kevin Cawley into the last 32 of the Scottish Cup.

While they were celebrating it was a different emotion in the Alloa dressing room with Michael Duffy and Conor McManus on the losing side.

With Lennon resigning Michael Chopra has put his name forward to take over as manager with the task of overhauling the six point gap with second bottom Livingston who have a game in hand.

Last night at Annan former Celtic keeper Jordan Hart kept another clean sheet as the borders club beat Inverurie Loco Works 1-0 to book a fourth round tie at home to Hamilton Accies.

Hart has been an ever present this season making 20 appearances with Annan sitting at the top of League Two and looking for their first ever promotion.

Queens Park, without the injured Tony Ralston, won 2-0 away to East Fife to move into second place in League Two, two points behind Annan who have played a game less.
