Dave King G & SKris Boyd has called on Dave King to step up and invest his promised £30m into Sevco.

King was highly critical of Boyd and other legendary figures like Lee McCulloch, Ian Black and Sebastian Fraue when he let them go at the end of their contracts in June.

After spending less than £1m during the summer transfer window the South African based criminal has still to release any funds from his January war-chest.

Mark Warburton failed to land Brentford ace Toumani Diagouraga with the botched bid for Michael O’Halloran from St Johnstone now into it’s third week.

With wages due to be paid on Thursday it’s unlikely that Warbo will be able to increase his £160,000 bid for the St Johnstone attacker.

With Hibs bringing in Anthony Stokes and Chris Dagnall to increase their firepower the lack of investment is causing some concern at Ibrox.

Voicing those fears Boyd said: “It’s now up to the club to go and back them and strengthen the squad. I think when you put yourself in that position, if you’re not going to do it then I don’t see why you open your mouth and say you would do it.

“I can understand the things he [King] has said at the beginning to try and get the fans back on side and appease them.

“You could say that [the management team] have been let down although, at the same time, they were given money at the start of the season but we’ve been reading things like: ‘We’ll spend £3-5million in January so that we don’t need to spend when we go back up’.

“Well, go and do it. The big thing for Rangers fans is that they’ve been lied to all along for the last five or six years. You want a structure put in place but, at the same time, it’s up to the board to go and back the manager.”

After the win against Morton on Monday night Warburton claimed that he was still working on a couple of deals as the focus turns on the lack of investment from Mr King.

Since sweeping to power in the blue room of dignity the man dubbed a glib and shameless liar by a South African judge has failed to deliver on a number of key promises.

Almost as soon as Paul Murray put his blazer on the football company was booted off the Alternative Investment Market, Mr King has failed to produce a share issue and been forced to pay up £5m to Sports Direct to avoid going into administration.

The reality of the King regime is in stark contrast to the promises made in March 2014 when he told the Daily Mail: “My view of what it will take to make Rangers competitive again is bottom end £30m but probably £50m — over the next four years.

From the discussions I have to date I think there are other people who would come with me but I would say I would probably have to put in £30m of the £50m over the period of time. And I could probably get other people to put in £20m.

Would I be willing to invest £30m despite what happened previously? Of course. Sure.”

Asked about his £30m investment at the launch of season tickets in June 2015 Mr King said: “That hasn’t changed, The only thing that has changed in my own personal thoughts over the last couple of weeks is the acceleration of that.

“I think it is very important that we win the league this year, so it’s probably the right thing to over-invest this season and make sure we do comfortably come out of the league and have a strong squad going into next season.

The mandate to the manager is going to be, ‘do not get players who will help us win the Championship – get players that could compete in the Premier League’.”

At the end of this season Dean Shiels, Nicholas Law, Nicholas Clark and David Cooper Templeton are out of contract while loan aces Dom Ball and Gedion Zelalem will return to Spurs and Arsenal.

I take it that Boydychenko will not feature for Kilmarnock against der Manky Mob? Mind you his manager is a well known curranty.

If you were a Killie supporter wouldn’t you be unhappy with this clown trying to strengthen your opponents before a Cup tie?

Only in this great wee country.
