HendersonLiam Henderson faces an agonising 24 hour wait to see if he can play in the League Cup Final.

The 19-year-old helped Hibs to a 2-1 victory over St Johnstone to book a place in next season’s Hampden showpiece.

Henderson went on loan to Hibs at the start of the season but will have to sit out the final if Celtic beat Ross County tomorrow in the other semi-final.

Speaking last week about the scenario he said: “If Celtic and ourselves made the final I don’t think I’m allowed to play – but that won’t stop me asking!

No matter what the situation is with me, I’ll be giving my all to try and get us into the final – I’m a Hibs player and my only concentration is this club.

I am loving my time here and the manager has been brilliant for me. I’ve not even thought that far ahead because we have to take care of St Johnstone in the semi-final first.”

Henderson earned Hibs a penalty in the 29th minute but four minutes after Jason Cummings converted St Johnstone levelled through Joe Shaughnessy.

Sixteen minutes from the end John McGinn booked Hibs final place with a 25 yard drive.

While Henderson sweats his way through tomorrow’s match Dylan McGeouch and James Keatings can look forward to being involved in the final.

McGeouch played alongside Henderson in midfield while Keatings replaced Jason Cummings in the final minutes as Hibs booked their place at next month’s Hampden final.

Glad he’s getting a regular game and doing well, hopefully he won’t be playing in the final.

Don’t forget where your ‘breeds buttered’ Liam and who has invested a lot of the fans money to develop you. HH

We shouldn’t forget either. We can’t find a place in a mediocre squad for this talented kid so we ship him out on loan to get “experience”. What better experience than playing in cup finals?
If we had a manager, Henderson would be playing his semi-final tomorrow.
If we are so afraid of him, why is he out on loan!

Nonsense, he is not yet ready to replace Scott Brown which I hope is a position he will be in, in the very near future and also captain ‘the Mighty Glasgow Celtic’ for over a decade, again in the future. ‘If’ he wants to stay at Hibs, get Hibs to make an offer for him and we will see how much Hibs value him at.

Celtic have handed over the fans money to help this Bhoy develop to become a professional football player and you want him to bite the hand that feeds him. Again ‘nonsense’. We are the ‘Champions’ of Scotland, we are going for 5 yes FIVE in a row, I can deal with that ‘mediocrity’ any and every year for the rest of my life.

It is nice to see a footballer who wants to play for trophies and the chance to appear in finals, too many of them nowadays are in it for the money.

There are a lot of reasons why Henderson shouldn’t play in the final should Celtic get past Ross County tomorrow but to be fair to Liam, I can’t help but feel sorry for him.

The press in there unbiased way will be clamouring for Henderson and Stokes to play. They are contracted to Celtic so Celtic will make the decision’ In my opinion Celtic should say no.
