red cardRaith Rovers boss Ray McKinnon was furious at referee Euan Anderson after seeing a ‘goal’ from Harry Panatioyou disallowed in last night’s 1-0 defeat from Sevco.

After being on the back foot throughout the first half, and trailing to a goal from Andy Halliday, Raith pushed for a goal during the second period and appeared to have equalised through Panatioyou with 20 minutes left to play.

Anderson disallowed it for a push by former Celt Lewis Toshney with McKinnon making his views of the decision crystal clear.

I can’t believe he never gave us that goal, it’s outrageous,” the Raith boss stated. “ I’m serious, a poor, poor decision from him and it cost us tonight.

Ultimately we got nothing out of that because the referee ruled out a goal that was perfectly okay. Toshney won it brilliantly at the edge of the box, kept his eye on the ball and knocked it down and Harry scored.

I never cane referees but he deserves it. There was nothing wrong with it and how he could give the decision is incredible.

You can tell I’m angry with the referee and I’m never angry with referees but sometimes it has to be said. It cost us.”

Following his recent rant at referee Barry Cook for booking Halliday against Morton respectful former city trader Mark Warburton didn’t comment on the officials last night.

While Sevco were winning at Starks Park Hibs kept the pressure up with a 1-0 win away to Morton at Cappielow thanks to a goal from Anthony Stokes.

The on loan Celtic striker teamed up with James Keatings in attack as Alan Stubbs rested first choice strikers Jason Cummings and Chris Dagnall ahead of Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie away to Hearts.
