Neil LennonNeil Lennon, and Bolton, could learn their fate tomorrow when the troubled club appear in court facing a winding up order brought by HMRC.

After three months of virtual administration Bolton find themselves bottom of the Championship, ten points adrift of safety with just four wins to their name.

Yesterday’s defeat at Leeds could be Lennon’s last involvement with the club if a takeover goes through led by Dean Holdsworth’s Sports Shield consortium.

Rumours abound that Southend’s Phil Brown is being lined up to take over from Lennon with the Irishman up front about his own situation.

Speaking on Friday Lennon admitted: “I don’t mind talking to media but it’s just coming to meetings with a lack of information. That’s been a case on numerous occasions since I have been here. Even today I am coming in not knowing what is going on with the takeover.

Time is running out, I know that much. The tax case is on Monday so I would imagine things will need to be resolved by today.”

Lennon added: “I have got plenty to concentrate myself on with the position we find ourselves in the league.

It would have been nice to have some reassurance but maybe they don’t want to do that until they are confirmed as the owners. Or maybe they have got something else in mind.”

After yesterday’s defeat Lennon said: “We’ll be in the High Court for a third time on Monday and we need the takeover to come through otherwise we’ll be looking at an administration scenario.

“Why it’s taken so long to come through I don’t know because it was announced two weeks ago that Dean’s group had bought the club but I think the League need more proof of funds to sustain it. I hope it goes through.”
