LADBROKES SPFLWhile the SFA stonewall Celtic’s requistioners over the licensing question of 2011 the SPFL are attempting to engage supporters through a survey on their Facebook page.

Whether it’s a genuine attempt at supporter engagement/interaction time will tell, the cynical may see it as a box ticking exercise to entice future sponsors

With just short of 100,000 likes on Facebook the survey is assured of a widespread audience and surprisingly doesn’t shy away from the gritty questions that are most relevant to fans increasingly dismayed by the lax approach taken to football governance and integrity by negotiation.

After answering some questions about yourself and which team you support there are a couple of questions about the performance of various Scotland international teams and how effective league restructuring has been.

A few questions on grass-root activities are asked before things get interesting with fans asked to rate how important it is to improve refereeing standards and introduce Financial Fair Play.

Without FFP the game really is a bogey as we’ve discovered over the Murray years, when one club is propped up by a bank overdraft that never needs repaid or attracts players with tax free salaries it really turns the game into a cross between a circus and procession.

After expressing your views on those topics the next question opens up into asking your views on how committed the SFA are to: govern the game, ensuring that clubs are well run and on financial regulations.

Question 20 asks how concerned you are with match fixing, a question open to interpretation beyond the old fashioned notion of players taking a bung to lie down. Next up you can offer your thoughts on safe standing and the introduction of alcohol to ‘the match-day experience’.

Overall it seems that the questions raised are very fan orientated with more than a hint of bampottery leaning towards the real questions and issues that are killing Scottish football.
