Karaoke McCoistAlly McCoist has joined the BBC and admitted that his old club went into liquidation.

The former Rangers boss walked away from Ibrox in December 2015 to double his salary on a 12 month stint in the garden.

Sevco and the BBC are currently in dispute with McCoist’s decision to work for the state broadcaster unlikely to go down well with his old employers.

During a discussion to promote Neil Lennon for a job which isn’t vacant the former Question of Sport skipper admitted: “I for one could sympathise and understand what Neil Lennon’s been going through more than most in terms of his managerial job in the last year or so,

“Our own club went into administration then liquidation. You get players turning up and they don’t know if they’re going to get paid.

“There are restrictions on you all over the place. It is an extremely difficult job.”

Fortunately for the creditors of Bolton Wanderers the club has been able to pay it’s bills and avoid the shame of going into administration.

In 2012 faced with liquidation McCoist used the phrase that ‘we don’t do walking away’ as he TUPE’d over his £750,000 contract from Rangers (IL) to Charles Green’s Sevco club.

Having been duped by Craig Whyte Mr McCoist gave his backing to Mr Green after buying up 100,000 shares for one penny per share. A few months later McCoist and Green were joined by Walter Smith as they urged supporters to buy shares for 70p per share.

Returning to his good guy imagine during 5 Live’s Champions League coverage the former Sevco boss claimed: “The current manager at Celtic is a man I have a great deal of sympathy for because, no matter what he does, it is probably not going to be enough.

“Scottish football for the last three or four years has been in an absolutely bizarre situation when nobody really knows what’s good and what’s bad and what’s indifferent.”
