Ronny Deila has claimed that he has the always had backing of the Celtic dressing room- but hinted at splits within the club.

The Norwegian announced his decision to step down as manager ten days ago and celebrated winning his second title with a 3-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle.

Deila has three matches more in charge of Celtic and spoke out after watching his side go 12 points and 38 goals ahead of Aberdeen.

You always ask me if I have the confidence and belief of the players, if I have lost dressing room,” the Celtic boss said. “I know that has never been the case and today showed that.

The biggest challenge this club has is unity, as when you are winning and winning, everyone wants us down and to split us

If you stay together – supporters, players and the rest of the club – then we are so hard to beat, and we saw that today.

The supporters were really behind us, the players fought for one another and Celtic were the best team in the country.”

Colin Kazim Richards put Celtic in front at the interval but Hearts equalised ten minutes into the second half before Patrick Roberts and Leigh Griffiths ensured an away win.

Deila joined his players celebrating the title success at the end of the match with the 1600 visiting supporters all alone with the home supporters making their exit the moment Griffiths put Celtic 3-1 in front.

At half time Aberdeen were leading Motherwell 2-0 leaving Derek McInnes’ side with 36 goals to turn around with the two clubs meeting in Glasgow next Sunday.
