Loch Lomond FestivalAfter three matches without a win Celtic beat Hamilton 5-0 at Lennoxtown to clinch the u17 title in the final fixture of the season.

Goals from Ross McLaughlin, Mikey Johnston and a Jack Aitchison hat-trick sealed the issue to add the league title to the Glasgow Cup that was collected at Ibrox last month.

Going into the match Celtic were behind Sevco on goal difference but the young hoops weren’t prepared to play for a point and clinched the title in style.

There were two changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Hibs in midweek with Kerr McInroy and Robbie Deas coming in for Broque Watson and Josh Kerr.

After showing some early nerves Celtic took the lead in the 11th minute when McLaughlin showed great composure to control a long pass from midfield then send his shot through the legs of the advancing keeper from 12 yards out.

Accies replied almost instantly forcing Aidan McAdams into an outstanding save as he pushed a 30 yard drive around the cross bar for a corner.

Midway through the half Celtic started to find their men and put some passes together but the tension of the day was obvious in their finishing.

Ewan Henderson saw a close range shot blocked by an instinctive save from the keeper in the 24th minute but should have done better than rush a shot over the bar six minutes later when he was presented with a clear view of goal as the Accies keeper decided against racing out of the penalty box to chase the ball.

Nine minutes into the second half Celtic doubled their lead when Johnston scored his 26th league goal of the season. Dan Church and Henderson combined well on the left then pushed the ball inside to McLaughlin, Johnston made his move behind the defence anticipating the pass then dinked his shot around the keeper.

Aitchison had the ball in the net soon afterwards but it was ruled off for opffside but in the 64th minute Aitchison fired past the keeper from 15 yards to put the title beyond doubt.

With his eye in Aitchison scored a great solo goal coming in from the touchline in the 70th minute then completed his hat-trick five minutes later after great work by Johnston.t.l.
