Alan Stubbs Alan Stubbs is looking forward to the Premiership semi-final play-off’s with Falkirk.

Hibs edged past Raith Rovers on a 2-1 aggregate with no love lost between Stubbs and Falkirk boss Peter Houston.

Falkirk pipped Hibs on goal difference to second place and will go into Tuesday’s first leg at Easter Road with the benefit of a full week’s preparation.

There’s bound to be an edge to the matches with the winner likely to face Kimarnock for a place in next season’s top tier.

I think it’s been very close all season,” Stubbs said looking at his side’s displays against Falkirk. “I think if you look at the results against each other it’s always been close games and I don’t envisage it being any different.

“We’ve shown today that when the chips are down, we’ve responded again. They’ve been good games and I don’t see them being any different on Tuesday or Friday. They’ll be tense, they’ll have all the emotions.”

After losing the first leg 1-0 at Starks Park early goals from John McGinn and Darren McGregor were enough to edge Hibs past Raith Rovers today.

Liam Henderson was restored to the Hibs team today with Stubbs well aware of the demands that will be place on his side.

The second leg tie against Falkirk will complete a spell of four matches in nine days with Hibs then facing another two matches either side of the Scottish Cup Final to reach the Premiership if they see off Houston’s side.

Looking at the toll on his players Stubbs added: “We’ll recover them the best we can possibly recover them.

“My team certainly doesn’t look tired, with the energy and effort that they put in today they’re a team that’s in good form.”
