After celebrating a title success at Tynecastle on Saturday Celtic fans can look forward to doing it all again on Sunday at home to Aberdeen.

The 12 point lead and 38 goal advantage that greeted the final whistle against Hearts was trimmed down to nine points and 35 goals after Aberdeen beat Motherwell 4-1 on Saturday.

Away from Saturday’s celebrations there was an impressive and emphatic performance from Ronny Deila’s side with only a ten minute dip after the interval to concern the away support.

Had Leigh Griffiths converted one of his first half chances or if the linesman had allowed Callum McGregor’s legitimate first half goal to stand then the scoreline would have reflected the balance of play.

When the final whistle blew the Celtic players took a deserved bow in front of the away supporters with Efe Ambrose and Logan Bailly enjoying more than a bow.

It was a rare moment of unity during a troubled season as the clouds cleared and the reality of five-in-a-row settled in.

After rediscovering his roar Deila said: “I’m so proud of the players. You always ask me if I have their confidence and belief, if I have lost the dressing room and I know that has never been the case.

“Today showed that the players are standing behind me all the time, and they gave a fantastic performance and so much credit goes to them.

“I’m so happy for them and we were also able to give something back to our fantastic supporters who have stood behind us for the whole season.

“Five-in-row doesn’t happen many times and we have to enjoy it and I will enjoy it today – I can assure you of that.

Today we won by two goals at a very difficult stadium and I felt it was a good performance, especially in the first half when we were very solid.”
