Celtic’s u-17 side will have to take a point from Hamilton on Sunday to clinch the title after drawing 0-0 at Hibs tonight.

After losing 4-3 at Hamilton last Thursday a win would have given Celtic the title but around goal they failed to find the target.

The point takes Celtic level with Sevco but with an inferior goal difference a point is needed from third placed Hamilton to tie up the title as the Murray Park starlets have completed their season.

Accies can draw level on points with Celtic but are 30 goals worse off than the young hoops.

There were two changes to the Celtic side that lost at Hamilton with Kerr McInroy and Keiran Campbell dropping out with Broque Watson and Ewan Henderson brought in to the starting XI.

There was little to note in the first half hour other than some spicy challenges from the Hibs defenders with Jack Aitchison the favourite target.

In the 32nd minutes Lewis Bell sent a 25 yard shot just wide of the post, Josh Kerr sent a header across goal them just before the interval Ewan Henderson tested the keeper with another long ranger.

Celtic continued on the front foot at the start of the second half with Mikey Johnston and Ross McLaughlin both coming close in the early stages but in the 65th minute there was a lucky escape when Hibs struck the bar with a penalty.

It was nervy stuff as Celtic chased the goal that would give them the title but mindful that a point would leave them just needing a draw from Hamilton on Sunday to win the championship.

Aitchison was leading the line but finding no luck around goal while Johnston and Dan Church were combining well on the left without being able to create anything clear cut.
