Rodgers5Whinging Mark Warburton has lashed out at the Premiership fixture card that sees the Championship winners travel to Celtic, Hearts and Aberdeen before the end-of-season split.

The former city trader has already blasted the BetFred League Cup schedule which sees his highly rated stars in action against Motherwell, Stranraer, Annan and East Stirlingshire ahead of the Premiership kick off.

Warbs spent most of last season moaning about plastic pitches, fixture scheduling and the tough time he gets from the Scottish media and appears set to continue that attitude into the new term.

I’m sure there are problems everywhere,” he said when asked about the Premiership fixture card. “I could sit here as Rangers manager and say we’ve got Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts away twice, at home only once, before the split.

How does that work? It’s the first time for me experiencing the split. It’s very, very unusual – I’m used to home and away, you know where you stand.

I’m sure the gripe of Motherwell and Partick Thistle isn’t with Rangers, but has got to be with the authorities. It shows you how much the league has missed Rangers, I guess.”

Since Rangers went into liquidation owing millions to the tax authorities no Scottish club has suffered the shame of going out of business.

With all top flight clubs living within their means St Johnstone, Inverness Caley Thistle and Ross County have enjoyed their first ever major trophy wins while Hibs have ended a 114 year wait to win the Scottish Cup.

When the SPFL drew up their fixture list the Ibrox club took over the schedule that relegated Dundee United were pencilled in for but it seems that no-one could explain that concept to the former city trader.
