Rab Douglas sets up Chris Sutton

|

green-twitterRab Douglas has introduced Chris Sutton into a special constable- his lookalike!

No details were given about the meeting which appeared on the twitter account of the former Celtic and Scotland keeper.

Douglas and Sutton were brought together by Martin O’Neill in 2000 with a special bond forming between the group of players that have become known as the Seville squad.

Both men last played together in the 2005 Scottish Cup Final win over Dundee United with Douglas moving on to Leicester after Celtic’s 1-0 triumph.

Sutton’s career came to a halt later that year after Gordon Strachan took over from Martin O’Neill.

Another of the signings of 2000 was in the news yesterday when Neil Lennon was appointed as the new manager of Hibs.

Lennon replaces Alan Stubbs and has no illusions about the task ahead with Hibs determined to get out of The Championship at the third attempt.

For me it’s a really good move, a good fit. Negotiations have gone well. I have a really big challenge on my hands but I am really looking forward to it.

What can I offer this club? Hopefully a winning mentality. I am following big shoes with Alan and what he achieved here.

The remit is obviously trying to get promotion but that’ll be difficult because of the competition in the Championship.

The facilities here are incredible. I have been really impressed. The chairman was here, which was great, and I was really impressed with what Leeann had to say too.

It’s very exciting for me obviously. I have big admiration for the club and have done for a long time. So I am looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead.”
