Kolo Toure has spoken to Sky Sports as if he is already a Celtic player!

The 35-year-old defender arrived in Glasgow this morning creating a storm of interest from Celtic fans desperate to see their side strengthened.

Toure has been linked with Celtic throughout the close season, by the tone of his words a deal has already been struck to be re-united with Brendan Rosgers.

Speaking to Sky Sports News he said: “It is a privilege to be linked with such a big club and I am just looking forward to it. I am a ready for a new challenge.

“I’m here to try to be ready and help the team as much as I can. The Champions League is a great competition and I always look forward to it.

“It’s really important, the game coming, to qualify and we will give everything we have got to qualify.

“I plan to work hard every day in training and help the team to get better, that’s all I know.”

Toure was speaking at Celtic Park before watching the Celtic v Leicester City pre-season friendly.

With Erik Sviachenko the only recognised central defender available to Rodgers the Danish internationalist was left out of the squad entirely.

Rodgers opted to again go with a 3-5-2 formation with Saidy Janko, Eoghan O’Connell and Mikael Lustig forming the backline. Efe Ambrose replaced Lustig at half time, Riyad Mahrez opened the scoring for Leicester.
