Luis Suarez is looking forward to facing Celtic and his old Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers on Saturday.

A huge crowd is expected at the Aviva Stadium for the International Champions Cup tie that brings together a number of factors that are bound to appeal to an Irish audience.

Barcelona will be playing in Ireland for the first time ever with A-list stars Suarez and Lionel Messi included in a star studded squad.

Rodgers can be assured of a warm welcome home as he attempts to emulate another Irishman, Neil Lennon, by taking Celtic to victory over the Catalan legends.

Speaking about the game to FAITV Suarez said: “We know that its a friendly game but when you play against a big team it’s really good for your pre-season.

I think that it’ll be really good because in Dublin there are a lot of fans of Liverpool, it is a great stadium and I think that it will be full. We will enjoy this game

We know that they (Celtic) have played a lot of games in the last two weeks but I think they have a really good manager, we will do our best to give the supporters a game to enjoy.”

After Rodgers was appointed Celtic manager Suarez said: “He is one of the best coaches in Europe and I am not surprised he is looking to get back in to the game because it is a game he loves.

I am glad he has taken his time since leaving Liverpool. He should only be looking at the top jobs, with the top clubs, who will be playing Champions League football.

If it was not for Brendan, then I know I would not be the same player that you see at Barcelona today. Such a big part of my education is down to him and his management.

Of course he works to make the team stronger but he really works on a one to one level with the players.

He will sit down with each player at the club, and work on where you can improve, where you can exploit opposition, he leaves nothing to chance.

He is a very intelligent man. If the players at his next club listen to his words, they will become better players for sure.”

In season 13/14 Suarez scored 31 goals in 33 games as Liverpool were pipped for the title by Manchester City.
