Celtic have warned fans to get to Tynecastle early tomorrow after ticket holding supporters were denied entry to last season’s title party.

With less than 2,000 tickets available to away fans the Tynecastle visit is one of the most sought after domestic season.

Despite strict ticket controls- some involving seven checks- a number of fans were locked out.

No explanation was ever given by Hearts as to what went wrong with some pictures emerging from within Tynecastle of empty seats.

Taking to twitter Celtic SLO John Paul Tayloer warned: “From today’s pre ops, turnstiles will close when section reaches capacity, Police advice is get to Stadium and get in as early as possible.

Gates open at 1:15 on Sun, advice is get there and get in early, lots of ticket cordons in place Police advice do not go without valid ticket.

If collecting tickets from friends on Sun, this must be done at Prison Officers Club, fans without tickets won’t be allowed up to Stadium.

After the fiasco in April Match Commander, Chief Inspector Bob Paris said: “While policing the Hearts versus Celtic match at Tynecastle Stadium, stewarding staff informed officers that the ground had reached maximum capacity and they would be closing the turnstiles.

Officers agreed with this approach and assisted in prevented any further entry in the interest of public safety.

Fans who had valid tickets but were unable to view the match are asked to contact their club to establish why their seats were unavailable and seek a refund.”
