Chris Sutton has told Celtic fans ‘bored’ of Barca to get real!

For the third successive time Celtic have been drawn alongside the Catalan superstars in the Champions League draw with Manchester City and Borussia Moenchengladbach ‘making up the numbers’.

The hoops open their campaign on September 13 away to Barcelona with some supporters claiming that they are fed up playing against Lionel Messi’s side!

Sutton has watched and suffered through back-to-back Europa League campaigns with teams such as Salzburg and Molde winning comfortably at Celtic Park and can’t believe that any fan can be bored with Barca.

Without doubt Real Madrid is the club that most Celtic fans want to see in the flesh- not for any fondness of the Champions League holders but simply to see the famous shirt back at Celtic Park after a 36 year break.

When Barca come to town on November 23 it’ll be their sixth visit since 2004 with Celtic coming out on top twice against the Catalans.

In 2004 a goal from Alan Thompson edged the hoops ahead in a two legged UEFA Cup tie before David Marshall and John Kennedy put the shutters up in the Nou Camp to ensure a famous aggregate wictory.

Four years ago Victor Wanyama and Tony Watt scored the goals while Fraser Forster worked some magic at the other end to ensure three Champions League points for Neil Lennon’s side.

One of the most memorable matches between the sides was in September 2004 when Sutton equalised for Celtic before supersub Henrik Larsson scored the final goal of the night for Barca in a 3-1 victory.
