Sevco fans are facing a day of dread as the reality of Dave King’s transfer war-chest slowly becomes clearer.

The noises have been put out to prepare the Ibrox fans for the departure of Martyn Waghorn with Bristol City ready to expose the true financial picture at Ibrox.

With the departure of last season’s top scorer the mystery of how Joe Garner was signed from Preston last week becomes a little clearer.

A ‘going concern’ warning was put on the ailing company accounts last year but somehow £1m plus was able to be raised for Garner.

Could it be that the money was a promise from Bristol City to sign Waghorn to fund the Garner deal?

It may seem far fetched but the seeds of the cunning plan were perhaps laid in July when it was mysteriously revealed that Waghorn and James Tavernier had turned down contract extensions.

Mark Warburton then confirmed the story claiming surprise that it surfaced- within a fortnight Tavernier had signed a new contract but not Waggers.

The former Sunderland striker then gets a little bit of treatment from the fans, his commitment is questioned followed by an injury in the opening league game of the season.

Lo and behold transfer deadline day arrives, injured Waggers heads south with a ready made replacement in Garner.

Is that too far fetched to be true?

When it comes to football business, finances and transfer dealings nothing is too far fetched, look at the Jozo Simunovic deal and try explaining that complex web

On the positive side Warbo is hopeful of completing the transfers of Philippe Senderos and John Eustace within the next 48 hours, both men are free agents.
