Delighted Dembele tweets that he knows the history

|

Two months after joining Celtic Moussa Dembele has found the goal he was looking for- the Champions League.

Later today the young striker will tune in for the challenge that he left Fulham for, turning his back on bit part roles in the Premier League.

It hasn’t taken Dembele long to discover the size, passion and energy about Celtic with this tweet showing that he knows his history.

Dembele was a second half substitute for Leigh Griffiths as Brendan Rodgers decided to make a radical change to the shape of his side.

Without doubt there is a ruthless streak to the new Celtic boss who will praise players to the hilt in public but think nothing of ditching them if the need arises.

Speaking after the match against Hapoel Dembele said: “There were people wondering why I’d gone to Celtic but now they know.

“We are through to the Champions League and Celtic is a club that deserves to be there. We have made it and now we have to show that we are a good team.

“The match against Hapoel is gone. We achieved what we wanted to do, although it was very difficult on the night. There will be the draw today and we are all excited about that.

“In life you always have people who complain about everything.

“There are always those who will question you. For me, I don’t listen to them. I might be young, but I make my own decisions.

“I think, I know, that it was a good decision to join Celtic.

“You know, for a young player like me it’s something crazy to now be involved in the Champions League.”
