John Hartson earned Celtic a point in the Nou Camp back in 2004 and is looking forward to more classic matches with Barcelona.

In just over two weeks time Celtic return to the Catalan capital with no one giving them a chance against the La Liga holders.

Some are already forecasting no wins for Brendan Rodgers’ side but Hartson takes a more optimistic viewpoint as his old club return to centre stage.

That view matched the mood of most Celtic fans who had to watch until the very end of the draw to see their side emerge with the three giants.

Typifying those views is Kieran Tierney who was a ball boy when Victor Wanyama and Tony Watt cut Barca down to size in November 2012.

Speaking of that night to the Celtic website he said: “I remember sitting in the corner with a ball in my hand and just looking at the ball thinking, ‘This is brilliant’. Four years later and I’m dying to play in a group like that.

It’s difficult in any group. This is the best of the best and the biggest competition. We’re delighted to be there but we’re not just there to make up the numbers. We’re going to work hard.

People have asked me who I wanted but I really didn’t mind because you’re going to get three great teams and six great games so I’m just happy with the draw.

It’s going to be very tough, everybody knows that, but we need to stay positive, do our work on the training field and you never know what can happen. We’re hopeful.”
