Warbo makes an incredible confession

After watching Sevco draw 1-1 at Kilmarnok on Friday night Mark Warburton claimed that if he knew what was happening he’d be a genius!

It seems that life among the big boys of Hamilton and Kilmarnock is taking it’s toll on the former city trader after a season of delusion in the second tier of Scottish football.

As a former city trader there has been little analysis of the former Brentford boss who was given the funds to bring in nine new stars during the summer.

Kilmarnock escaped the drop thanks to a play-off success over Falkirk but more than matched Sevco despite playing the last half hour with ten men.

After the match Warbo told the club website: “If I knew why it was happening I would be a genius, but the fact of the matter is, we have dropped our level of standards in the first half and can’t play to the level we normally play at and do every day in training.”

Warbo won’t be the first or last manager to find that there’s a world of difference between the training ground and 90 minutes of real action.

All the Power Point Presentations in the world, supported by video analysis and player stats count for nothing if a manager can’t react to what he is watching from his team in action.

While Lee Clark screamed encouragement to his Kilmarnock players to take a point Warbo looked lost and out of his comfort zone but no doubt a stats blast and excuse or two will emerge this week.

Off the pitch Philippe Senderos and John Eustace are expected to sign up for the revolution within the next 48 hours.
