A week after moving on loan to Morton Aidan Nesbitt is back in a Celtic shirt tonight.

The teenage winger is in Tommy McIntyre’s side for tonight’s Irn Bru Cup tie away to Cowenbeath after playing for Morton against Hamilton in the Betfred Cup and Falkirk in the Championship.

Under the terms of development loans Nesbitt can still play for his parent side with the hoops also recalling Joe Thomson from Dumbarton for the match.

After their 5-1 win at home to Annan in the first round Celtic are strong favourites for tonight’s match against a side who have lost five out of six matches this season.

Following the second round draw McIntyre said: “We’re looking forward to the tie. Cowdenbeath will be a tough, tough game. They’ve already played the likes of Dundee United, Dunfermline and Inverness in the League Cup, so they’ve got a fair bit of experience leading up to this game.

We enjoyed the game against Annan Athletic, and we’ll approach the Cowdenbeath game in the same vein as that one. We had Annan watched four times and we’ll try and see Cowdenbeath as much as we can. It’s an away tie, so it’s going to be different for us. It’ll be a tight pitch, but it’s grass so we’ve no complaints about that.”

CELTIC: Doohan; Ralston, Wardrop, McCart, McIlduff; Thomson, Ajer, Hendry, Nesbitt; Miller, Aitchison

SUBS: Hazard, Higgins, Hill, Johnston, Murray, Crossan, Archibald.
