Shaun Bowers and Lewis Bell are set to join Lowland League side BSC Glasgow on loan.

Both players were key members of Michael O’Halloran’s double winning u-17 side last season with the opportunity of regular first team football the perfect next stage in their development.

Bowers is a tall rangy right-back that likes to push forward at every opportunity while Bell can perform in any midfield role.

The leap from u-17 football to the Development League is vast with the loan option exposing both players to older experienced players in a professional environment.

BSC (Broomhill Sporting Club) will play their home matches at Alloa this season although they are dedicated to providing a community focus in the north west of Glasgow.

Announcing the move to Alloa their website stated: “BSC Glasgow are delighted to announce they have reached agreement with Alloa Athletic FC to play at the Indodrill Stadium for season 2016-17. The move will see BSC move from Lochburn Park to the Indodrill Stadium’s newly laid artificial surface.

“Although the club are reluctant to move from Glasgow, the welcome we were given at Alloa, coupled with the first class facilities on offer, made the decision easier to make. We would like to thank Alloa FC for this opportunity, and we look forward to forging closer links with them.

“It should also be noted that the move will in no way distract us from our long term goal of having our own facility in Glasgow, and we continue to work towards that end.

“The move should enable the club to have a sustained run of games during the season, something that we have not been able to have in the last two seasons.

However we recognise the difficulty that Maryhill FC have had in keeping their pitch playable, in the face of some extreme wet weather in the last 2 years, and we would like to thank them for their hospitality and efforts over this period.”

Last season BSC finished in seventh place in the 15 team Lowland League, tomorrow they travel to play Preston Athletic.
