Evergreen Rod Stewart took the huddle to the directors box as Celtic hammered Sevco 5-1 at Celtic Park.

It was all too easy for the hoops as they dismissed the tribute act with ease showing Warbarton’s All Stars what is needed to challenge for top honours.

The Green Brigade were in fine form throughout the match with their second half huddle taking place while Brendan Rodgers side toyed with the Scottish Cup runners-up.

Never one to resist a party Stewart got the huddle moving in the directors box which wouldn’t have gone down well with Paul Murray, John Gilligan and Douglas Park from the visitors.

Stewart has never made any secret of where his footballing heart lies with the Manchester derby providing no opposition to Celtic putting Sevco to the sword.

In 2012 the singer was in tears as he watched Celtic beat Barcelona 2-1, three years later he was at Hampden presenting Scott Brown with the League Cup after the hoops beat Dundee United 2-0.

After the game hero striker Moussa Dembeke said: “It was the perfect day, to beat Rangers at home, to get the three points and for me to score my first ever hat-trick is something unbelievable and I’ll remember it all my life.

We scored a lot of goals and we played very well and that’s why we won the game. The fans were great with us and they supported us until the end of the game. t was something special. When you play in a derby it’s always something special, and I want to thank the fans for their support.

It was like a dream for me – to come here, start in the derby and score my first ever hat-trick is something huge.”
