Once again the Celtic fans rose to the occasion to show that there is no stadium in football better than Celtic Park for atmosphere.
Despite a 7-0 hammering from Barcelona and warnings of another hefty defeat from Barcelona the hoops fans were out in force as the 12th man driving their team to new heights.
On paper Celtic shouldn’t have been able to live with Manchester City, on grass the Premier League leaders were fortunate to take a point home after being behind three times.
At no point did the Celtic support wilt or drop their backing for the team with a magnificent rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone setting the scene perfectly.
Around the whole stadium scarves were raised, throats cleared as thousands of fans gave their final pre-match message to the players.
Within three minutes they were rewarded when Moussa Dembele bundled Celtic into the lead, the first time this season that City have been behind.
After having their lead pegged back the hoops were undeterred with Kieran Tierney forcing £50m Raheem Sterling into turning the ball into his own net.
City again levelled quickly before the goal of the game from Dembele as he stunned the stadium with a brilliantly taken overhead kick.
All through the night the stadium rocked with song, City may have their millions or billions but they’ll never ever have the soul, character and spirit that they witnessed last night.
