Aberdeen fan paid a touching tribute to Rangers IL during this afternoon’s Pittodrie clash with Sevco today.

Twelve minutes into the match the home fans rose from their seats to cheer and applaud the year in which the club from Ibrox was placed into liquidation after refusing to settle their bills with Her Majesty.

Aberdeen suffered more than most under the cheating ways of the club from Ibrox as they enjoyed a limitless overdraft thanks to the special relationship between Dave Murray and Gavin Masterton of the Bank of Scotlamd.

The Dons could well have won a title or two in the early nineties if Murray’s mob had operated by the same rules as everyone else or if the football authorities had applied the laws of the game.

Aberdeen’s last clash with Rangers was at Ibrox in January 2011 shortly before Craig Whyte placed the club into administration.

Sevco fans responded with their usual mix of anti-catholic singing.
