Respectful Mark Warburton has accepted a one match ban for using offensive, abusing and insulting language to match officials.

The former city trader lost the plot with John Beaton over the award of a late free kick against his side that led to Aberdeen’s winning goal at Pittodrie on Sunday.

Warbo questioned the decision in his post match media comments and was offered a one match suspension by the SFA.

Accepting that ban he admitted: “My frustration over two big decisions hasn’t changed but it is what it is, a process, so it will be a one-match ban.

“I pride myself on being respectful and being disciplined and if I appeared to lose that then you deserve to be punished accordingly.

“I’m not proud of that, if that is the case but I think my frustration was very evident. The two decisions when we looked at it post-match, it was quite clear we were right in our assumptions.”

After the match Warbo claimed: “We would have been disappointed at one all but we are bitterly disappointed now at a decision of that nature.

“We are convinced and the fourth official even said it wasn’t a foul. It’s an expensive decision for us. How can you give that decision? We are more than frustrated.

“We are always very respectful of fourth officials but that’s a big decision. The ball moved and you have to be 100 per cent sure to give that decision. Unfortunately we’ve paid for it.”
