Moussa Dembele took to twitter to celebrate his match winner against Sevco at Hampden.

After notching a hat-trick against the club from Ibrox in the SPFL the former Fulham man was again the match winner as Celtic booked a place in the final of the BetFred Cup against Aberdeen next month.

It was the first of his 13 goals scored away from Celtic Park with today’s dramatic strike further endearing Dembele to the hoops support.

Until Dembele flicked the ball under Matt Gilks it had been a frustrating afternoon around goal for Brendan Rodgers side.

After a fairly uneventful first half Celtic stepped up the pace after the break to push Sevco further and further into defence.

Only some desperate defending and dubious decisions from Craig Thomson delayed the breakthrough as the hoops played towards their fans in the East Stand.

Extra time seemed on the cards but right on time Dembele and Griffiths combined to create a magic moment for the delirious Celtic support inside Hampden.

Afterwards Rodgers admitted: “Yes, because I thought we were very dominant today in terms of chances and power and strength and quality in our game.

“Sometimes you never know, if the chances don’t go in and you don’t get that little bit of luck you are always vulnerable to a counter attack.

“Tactically the players were brilliant, we stopped them building. Then when we had the ball we created opportunities and looked a real threat going forward so every element of our game was at a high level.”
