Brendan Rodgers saluted Scott Brown after his skipper provided the only goal of the game as the hoops beat Dundee 1-0 at Dens Park.
After the high of the midweek Champions League clash with Manchester City Celtic found Dundee difficult to break down.
Paul Hartley’s side were happy to concede possession to their visitors but clear cut chances were few and far between.
Fortunately Brown showed his eye for goal in the 47th minute when he tucked a half chance away after good build up play by Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele.
Earlier in the match Celtic should have been awarded a penalty when Cameron Kerr crashed through Erik Sviatchenko in the box but referee Andrew Dallas and his assistant waved play on.
Despite that set-back Celtic remained disciplined an composed to claim all three points proving that they have the mental toughness to cope with domestic fixtures on the back of Champions League clashese.
