Madcap Lee Wallace believes that he can be a Champions League star NEXT SEASON.
The euphoria of back-to-back wins in the top flight has sent morale soaring among the Sevco squad despite sitting in fourth place in the Premier League table.
Captain Waldo is a keen student of the game and has picked up winners medals in the Third Division, League One, the Championship and the Challenge Cup since agreeing to TUPE over his contract to Charles Green’s club.
On Wednesday night the former Hearts ace watched Barcelona taking Manchester City apart and believes that Sevco are less than a year from making their Champions League debut.
Looking beyond Sunday’s BetFred Cup clash with Celtic he revealed: “I’m watching Barcelona-Manchester City last night and of course there is envy there. You want to be playing at those levels.
“That’s why I came to this club. That’s why a number of guys have signed for this club. As a Rangers player that’s where you want to be.
“But we know how we’re going to get there. It will take hard work but hopefully this time next season we’re in a similar position.”
Waldo added: “We’re definitely in a better place than the last game. We’re feeling a lot better about ourselves.
“We’ve got some good momentum behind us. The last two results have been two clean sheets and performances have been starting to gather.
“We learn lessons from every game, no matter if it’s a 5-0 win or we lose in the manner we did last time.”
To reach the group stage of the Champions League next season Waldo’s team-mates will need to overtake Hearts, Aberdeen and Celtic to lift the Scottish title.
With no UEFA co-efficient they would then have to overcome three seeded teams in July and August to reach the group phase.
