Brendan’s one liner that brought the house down

|

Brendan Rodgers was the star turn at the Celtic AGM with the Irishman again demonstrating that he understands the club and the fans better than most.

Six months on from being welcomed by 15,000 fans Rodgers was in more select company as he sat at the top table in front of shareholders.

With Barcelona visiting next week followed by the first domestic cup final of the season things could hardly be rosier at the club.

Getting Rodgers to replace Ronny Deila has resulted in season ticket sales rocketing with attendances up 10,000 on last season.

While the mood at the meeting was congratulatory Rodgers wasn’t slow to bring a little reality when he was quizzed by chairman Ian Bankier.

Rodgers confirmed to the shareholders that work was underway to bring in new faces during the January transfer window with the emphasis on quality with the hoops boss hoping to move on a number of players during the next two transfer windows.
