Brendan Rodgers has questioned why Celtic’s match with Kilmarnock has been switched to Friday night.

The hoops boss was keeping tabs on Tom Rogic and Emilio Izaguirre yesterday with 14 players away on international duty.

Rogic and Izaguirre would have started a weekend match against Kilmarnock but are likely to be left out after travelling today and returning to training tomorrow.

Celtic’s next match is on Wednesday against Barcelona in the Champions League with Rodgers puzzled by his side’s Friday night fixture.

Rodgers was speaking at Lennoxtown this morning as he assessed 12 of his 14 internationalists.

Leigh Griffiths, James Forrest, Scott Brown and Craig Gordon were all in Gordon Strachan’s Scotland side that lost 3-0 to England at Wembley.

On the plus side Moussa Dembele was on target twice for the French u-21 side against England on Monday night.

The 20-year-old is attracting interest from across Europe but with a four year contract signed with the Scottish champions there is no chance of Celtic entertaining any offers during the January transfer window.
