Celtic’s u-20 squad went goal crazy at Lennoxtown today as they thumped Edinburgh City 21-0 in the third round of the SFA Youth Cup.
Calvin Miller had first claim on the match ball scoring 5, Mikey Johnston, Kristoffer Ajer and Jack Aitchison claiming hat-tricks with the other goals split between PJ Crossan (2), Tony Ralston, Theo Archibald, Mark Hill, Regan Hendry and Sam Wardrop each scoring singles.
It took Tommy McIntyre’s side 21 minutes to break the deadlock but after Theo Archibal drilled in a low shot the hoops found the net NINE more times before the interbal.
Archibald’s strike literally opened the floodgates with PJ Cossan (2), Mikey Johnston and Kristoffer Ajer scoring in a five minute blitz between the 23rd and 27th minutes.
Calvin Miller helped himself to a hat-trick before the half-time whistle with Johnstone getting his second and Anthony Ralston making it 10-0 at half time.
There was no lay up after the break with Miller adding two in the 48th and 70th minutes with Johnston completing his hat-trick and Mark Hill also on target.
In the next batch of goals substitute Jack Aitchison put Celtic 16-0 up in the 74th minute with Ajer and Regan Hendry taking the scoring to 18-0.
A double from Aitchison allowed him a claim on the match ball before Sam Warrop completed the scoring with number 21 in the 88th minute.
On Thursday Celtic’s u-23 squad travel to meet Aston Villa in the Premier League International Cup.
