After coming out on top from Sunday’s scares Stuart Armstrong has admitted that Celtic could complete the season unbeaten.

At half time the hoops were losing 2-0, after getting back to level terms they then fell 3-2 behind before squeezing home with a 4-3 win.

On the park and among the supporters the match was never written off, there was always a belief that defeat could be avoided and full points achieved.

There are few sweeter feelings in football than a last minute winner- when it’s the first time you’ve been in front it tastes all the better.

Armstrong was a key factor in the turnaround and is thriving on the belief that something special is brewing in the current Celtic side.

By the new year we’ll have a far better idea if this team can go through the league campaign unbeaten, after Saturday’s incredible 90 minutes it has become much more realistic.

We had a huge win last week in the Betfred Cup Final and the next fixture is always difficult after a very big performance and a lot of emotion and energy, so it was a great level of performance,” Armstrong explained in The Sun.

Is there a feeling we won’t be beaten? Never say never but we have a huge belief in ourselves to play the way we want. We’re a flexible team and we can play attractive football at times.

But we’ve shown we can battle as well and grind out results and performances when we need them.

We got off to a bad start and they produced some decent football but we have to focus on ourselves and we were disappointed.

In the second half we made sure to make amends. It was a bit of a battle in the end but we got the three points.”

Starting with Thistle away on Friday Celtic face seven SPFL fixtures in 22 days- as the bells bring in 2017- and the winter break- we’ll all have a far better idea of how likely an unbeaten league season is.
