Mark McGhee loses the plot

Furious Mark McGhee lost the plot after seeing Tom Rogic score a last minute winner to give Celtic a 4-3 win over Motherwell at Fir Park.

Pictures show McGhee with his fist clenched and raised being restrained by the fourth official at the final whistle.

Celtic assistant Chris Davies seemed to be the target of the Scotland No. 2’s anger with McGhee claiming that he didn’t know who Davies was.

Having borrowed four or five players at a time for international duty it seems incredible that the assistant manager of the international team doesn’t know the name of his equivalent at the biggest club in the country.

Explaining the flare up to The Sun McGhee said: “Brendan was as good as gold, as always he was dignified in victory like he is dignified in defeat.

We had no problem with Brendan but I think some of the staff weren’t really Celtic quality in terms of their behaviour.

I don’t know his name, you’re telling me his name so I think that says it all.”

It certainly does, it says everything about the Scotland assistant manager.

Responding to McGhee’s claim Rodgers said: “I think that’s very unfair – especially when he comes into our warm-up before the game.

As the opposition manager and assistant manager of his country, he comes up and is asking our players to warm up in a different area.

I don’t think that’s befitting of the assistant manager of a national team and the manager of Motherwell.

My staff are exemplary in their behaviour. We know what we’re representing here. We’ll always be honest. We have integrity.”
