Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that will bring in new faces during the January transfer window.

The hoops are 11 points clear of Sevco on route to 6-in-a-row but there are no signs of complacency from the manager.

Rodgers has watched his side win 19 and draw one of 20 domestic fixtures as well as take the hoops back into the Champions League.

Discussion over the merits of Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele is about as close as you’ll get to criticism of the Celtic boss with the garden exceptionally rosy.

With four matches left in a punishing December schedule Rodgers has had to use his squad to the maximum with the three week break in January providing the manager with some welcome breathing space.

Asked about the significance of the break Rodgers told The Sun: “It’s absolutely massive for us, it’ll be a welcome break.

One, to recover the body and the mind and then to prepare for the second part of the season.

That allows us to reflect on how the first part has gone and look at the areas we can be better, then add one or two signings, which will improve us and we can really kick on again.

The players have been phenomenal in their work and their concentration.”

After the visit to Ibrox on December 31 Celtic’s next match will be the Scottish Cup tie away to Albion Rovers on January 22 followed by a re-arranged league match at home to St Johnstone three days later.
