Colin Kazim-Richards has joined legendary Brazilian side Corinthians on a two year contract!

A year ago the much travelled Turkish internationalist joined Celtic in one of the strangest deals of Ronny Deila’s two seasons in charge.

After preaching about the need to identify, recruit and train younger players Celtic was the ninth club of Kazim-Richards career as he joined Carlton Cole as back-up to Leigh Griffiths.

Brendan Rodgers quickly brought his 13 game and 2 goal Celtic career to a halt with a move to Coritiba of Brazil quickly sorted out.

Rather than let his career drift to a halt the much travelled striker has joined one of the most famous clubs in South America, a club with over 4.5m followers on twitter.

After signing for Corinthians he said: “To play in the team that Ronaldo played is really good. I was born in London and never imagined playing for Corinthians, never in my dreams.

“My objective is to help. This is the best club in the Americas. I came because is it my dream to play in a great club like Corinthians.

“I had offers from China and Dubai but I said that I wanted to play here. Winning a title with Corinthians would be really great.”

Richards made his debut for Celtic away to Aberdeen on February 3 picking up a yellow card as the hoops lost 2-1.

He scored his first goal four days later in the 2-0 Scottish Cup win over East Kilbride.

In his final appearance he scored the opening goal at Tynecastle as Celtic beat Hearts 3-1 in a match which effectively won the title- the following week at home to Aberdeen he didn’t make the substitute bench.
