Neil Lennon is set to bring Anthony Stokes to Hibs for a third time.

According to a report in The Sun Blackburn Rovers have given Hibs permission to speak to the striker.

Neil Lennon had been hoping to bring Kris Commons in on loan but it looks unlikely that the Edinburgh side would be able to finance that deal.

Stokes joined Hibs on loan last January and signed off in May with a Scottish Cup winners medal.

Despite that display at Hampden Brendan Rodgers decided to cancel Stokes contract with the Irishman heading south to join Owen Coyle at Blackburn.

Stokes has only started two matches in the Championship with Coyle prepared to let him leave on loan if Hibs can come to a wages deal with Blackburn.

Last season Stokes scored nine goals for while on loan to Alan Stubbs side including a double in the Scottish Cup Final win over Sevco.
